field of dreams

i feel that feild of dreams was a very good representation of shoeless joe by w.p. kinsellia because the director of the movie brought the magic of the book to the big screen. the director of the movie took the text and almost made it identicle to the text for the exception of a few names. i think its a good thing he stayed so close to the tex because if he changed it in any way the movie would have been boring. the directors message in the movie is as clear as w.p. kinsellias in the book kinsella had people bleive that there was a guy saying if you build it he will come and with that state ment i thank w.p is sending a message to the reader that if you think it you can do it and the director portrayed ray as the know nothing farmer. i think that the film was great also because they took their time and really tried to make it a great movie. what they did was unbelieveable they made it look like ray was talking to shoeless joe in the movie and thats what made the movie magicial bringing childhood memories back to life on the big screen now that waht i like to see. all in all the movie captured the message of the novel and the messages is dont give up on your hopes and dreams remember yor past and have fun with the joys of life and thats why field of dreams is souch a good adaptation of shoeless joe.

i think the director should make some nice furry animals so that when the kid see the movie they are intersted in watching the movie but also they should make it intresting with the evil of the book and make the evil people evil. also they should make the battile scense good so the parents who bring there kids to see the movie there not falling asleep in their chairs also they have to incorparate the story line very well so the audince does not walk out of the theater before the movie is over. so for the kids make the animals nice and furry and with the evil ones dont make them too scary but make the battle scenes interesting so the parents like it too.

criteria of translation

a translation in kahirs eyes is a deffinant change in a text of a book changes in every thing except the basic story line. for example in great expectatins every thing was changed the names the places the time peirod thats why its a radical translation if it was just brining the book to the screen it would not be a radical translation

translations in movies

in order for a film to be an effective trans lation you have to stay close to the orignal tex if you are making the movie out of a book. also if you want to make it a good translation dont remove important people that were in the book from the movie the way i look at it is the author put these characters in the book for a good reason if he did not need them he wouldnt have put them in the book. so dont take them out of the movie. i also think that if you make a radical translation of a movie from some book or text i think that the screen writers should have the author oversee what kind of changes they were going to make. i also think that they should not change the names of allready made up charters it makes no sense to do that its just a name.

screenwriting

being a smart screenwriter you have to read the book and i think that you have to take all the details of the book and to adapt to haow they are going to have determine how they they are going to put the all the details of the book in the movie. also they have to determin how to make the soundtrack is going to deal with the carters in the movie

adapttation

i think the movie adaption was one of the worst movies i have ever seen. the reason i think this is because the story line was very hard to follow. it was too complcated. the screen writers did something wrong when they decided to put two storyline in the movie if i were one of the screen writers of the movie i would just put john laroches story in the movie and what i would put more details about john and his flower obsestion in the movie. i feel like that was the hardest thing that they had too do is portraying john laroche another ting that was hard to do was were they goiing to make it a comedy or action movie.i also felt that it was hard for them to find the actors who could play some one as crazy as laroche. i think they did an ok job at adapting the book the orchid theif to film but i wont recamend watching the movie adaption.
